Gartner PCC Summit 2007 (part 1)

We’re off! The Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration (PCC) Summit 2007 has started (even though there is a Tube strike in London…). As I said I’m going to 'live blog' this Summit. We’ll see where this goes. You can find the program here. So if you have questions, just leave them in the comment area.

We were welcomed by Debra Logan.

Most participants were in Government, followed by Manufacturing, and then Oil and Logistics. Participants come from 29 countries.

Debra gives us some high level messages
.

What are you going to do during this Summit?, she asks. Change your thinking, Build your brand (“we’ll be talking about information not technology”) and Be successful (“what does success mean?”). Keep these statements in mind when you walk around here.

The PCC summit has three tracks:
  1. Meeting business needs with PCC technology
  2. Execution & Best practices for Implementation
  3. Architectures, Technologies and Vendors: trends & selection
So, a focus on business (except for track 3).
